Who We Are

Founded in August 2023, the Collective is a church without walls seeking to offer a compelling vision of love and belonging to new generations by being a force for love and justice in Atlanta and beyond.

We believe that church can be different, a place where people of all identities can experience the radical love of God. We believe that church can be a force for good in our city by partnering with organizations which seek to dismantle systemic and structural injustice. We believe that church can be a place of liberation–liberation here and liberation now.

We hope you will join our movement–our movement of love and belonging, our movement of liberation for all people.

Our Values

At the Collective, we believe that a community centered around these four values has the potential to transform our city and the world. We believe that God’s abundant grace transforms us by empowering us to boldly share our stories and the stories of others in hopes that one day all people will experience liberation. Liberation here and liberation now.

Love:

We love Jesus, and we love others. Our love is reckless and radical. It affirms the humanity and personhood of all people regardless of their identity. It declares that Jesus redeems even the most messy parts of our lives. We enact our love for God through passionate worship and by choosing presence over judgment, affirmation over exclusion, and wonder over fear.

Solidarity:

We stand in solidarity with the suffering and afflicted in Atlanta and beyond. We do not pretend to have all the solutions. Instead, we are curious and seek to build intimate relationships with people in our city who live at the margins. We rely on their lived experience to teach us how we can partner alongside them and work for their liberation here and now.

Abundance:

We believe that God, through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, has granted us the promise of abundant life. This promise is a promise for today. It is a promise which declares that each of us has been freed from everything which holds us back from God’s love. In response to this unending love, we reject myths of scarcity and are freed to love and serve our neighbors in Atlanta and beyond.

Storytelling:

We believe in the power of story. Too often the Christian story is dominated by voices of hate and exclusion. We seek to recast this narrative by boldly sharing a progressive vision of God’s love for all people. We seek to be co-narrators in God’s vision of love and justice. We share our stories because they are powerful examples that nothing can separate us from God’s love.
