Civil Rights

Pilgrimage Interest Form

Next summer from June 4-7, the Collective will be embarking on a sacred pilgrimage to learn more about the Civil Rights Movement. We will start our journey in Atlanta at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Then we will travel down to Montgomery, Alabama to witness the Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Museum and lynching memorials. In Montgomery, we will also visit the Rosa Parks Museums and other important monuments. Then we will visit Selma, AL and walk the Edmund Pettus Bridge. We will end our trip in Birmingham by visiting the Civil Rights Institute and 16th Street Baptist Church.

Through this sacred exploration, we will learn more about the ways that the Civil Rights Movement embodied the life of Jesus. We will also ponder how we can continue the legacy of MLK and John Lewis and others by fighting for justice in our communities today.

Cost will be $375 and include double occupancy lodging (single occupancy lodging is available for an added cost).
